F. W. Lanchester
Frederick William Lanchester’s work forms the basis of modern automobile engineering, and was a major contributor to the theory and practice of automobile and aeronautical engineering. He published Aircraft in Warfare in 1916 in which he developed mathematical equations of combat. These became the basis of the science of Operations Research and was a significant factor in the development of modern Japanese marketing and sales strategies. These marketing and sales techniques are know today as the New Lanchester Strategy.
